The A-Z of air frying

Eating healthily doesn't have to be a chore. An air fryer makes cooking quick and simple—ideal for singles and couples. With absolutely no preheating required, you save both time and energy. Plus, by swapping oil for hot air, everything from veg and meat to potatoes is lighter on calories but still packed with flavour. For smaller households, the air fryer is an efficient, space-saving and healthy alternative to the big oven.

A perfect match: Your air fryer and Kikkoman

Good things really do come in threes when it comes to air frying and the delicious seasoning magic of Kikkoman sauces.

The Kikkoman caramelisation hack: Whether you create a marinade with Kikkoman Soy Sauce or glaze your food with one of our teriyaki sauces, the circulating hot air works wonders. It caramelises the marinade to perfection, leaving your favourite dishes glossy and golden on the outside and juicy on the inside. Give it a try and you'll never look back!

The umami advantage: Using an air fryer saves you oil or lets you skip it altogether. For health reasons, it's also a good idea to go easy on the salt. But careful eating shouldn't mean sacrificing enjoyment. Switch table salt for a splash of Kikkoman Soy Sauce when seasoning dishes – its natural umami guarantees an intense, full-bodied flavour even with less salt and oil. All the flavour, none of the compromise!

Made for green cooking: Water, soybeans, wheat and salt—these are the pure and sustainaly sourced ingredients of our traditionally Naturally Brewed Kikkoman Soy Sauce. It is completely vegan, making it a perfect fit for the eco-conscious values of a plant-based diet. When you add an air fryer, it couldn't make more sense!

The basics of air frying

  • Place the food in the basket and set the temperature and time.
  • Don't overcrowd the basket to ensure food like chips or vegetable sticks gets properly crispy on all sides.
  • A temperature of 170–190 °C is suitable for most dishes.
  • Shake the food in the basket halfway through the cooking time.
  • Use baking paper for dishes with wet ingredients—such as loaded chips.

Safety tips

  • Plug your air fryer directly into a wall socket. Extension leads can overheat.
  • Let the air fryer cool down after use. It cools more quickly if you remove the basket and place it on a wire rack.
  • Skip the preheating so you can safely place food into the basket without burning yourself.
