Teriyaki Chicken Drumsticks Coated in Sesame with Rice

This delectable dish combines juicy chicken drumsticks with sweet and savoury Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauce with Roasted Garlic. Serve with rice for an easy family dinner.

  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 2 spring onions
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 100g basmati rice
  • 1 pinch ground saffron
  • 4 chicken drumsticks
  • 8 tbsp Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauce with Roasted Garlic
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • Few chives, optional


Deseed the peppers in to 1/2 cm slices. Peel the onions and slice them thinly. Heat up the oil in a frying pan, add the onions, cook for 2 mins, then add the peppers and cook for another 5 mins, turning frequently.

Add the rice, cook for another minute, stirring well. Pour over 1/4 litre of water and cook for 15 mins on a low heat, then add the saffron.

Coat the chicken drumsticks with half of the teriyaki sauce and fry for 3 mins on each side, then coat both sides with more sauce and continue to cook for 10 mins, turning from time to time. When the chicken is cooked through, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve on a bed of the cooked rice and peppers. Garnish with chives, if liked.
