Grilled mango with ponzu syrup, ice cream coconut flakes
Lightly cooking mango intensifies the flavour and makes it extra juicy. The caramelised Ponzu syrup is an unusual but perfectly balanced sauce combining tangy lemon with sweet honey and spicy chilli. It's a dessert that will get your guests talking!

- 2 ripe mangos
- 3 tbsp. honey
- 2 tbsp. Kikkoman Ponzu
- 75 g sweet chilli sauce
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1 handful coconut flakes
Heat the honey, Kikkoman Ponzu and sweet chilli sauce in a small pan, until it has thickened to a syrup.
Peel the mangos, and cut away the stones. Brush the cut sides of the mango pieces with ponzu syrup. Place the mango pieces on a grill with the cut sides facing down, and cook until the syrup caramelizes.
Serve the grilled mango in deep plates with ice cream. Top with the remaining ponzu syrup and coconut flakes.
