Kikkoman Soy Sauce - now in a Cocktail

Founders Harry and Will of cocktail brand, Bloody Drinks, have added Kikkoman Soy Sauce to their top-quality ingredients in their Bloody Classic cans. This premium ready-to-drink Bloody Mary cocktail contains the finest vodka, amontillado sherry, lemon juice and a trinity of special seasonings – Kikkoman Soy Sauce, Tabasco pepper sauce and Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce. No additives are used whatsoever.
Although soy sauce is not a traditional ingredient in a bloody mary, connoisseurs Harry and Will wanted to add extra umami to elevate the flavour of the tomatoes which are also naturally rich in umami. Known as the fifth taste sensation, umami heightens the savouriness of other ingredients.
It’s important to mention that not just any soy sauce would work. After experimenting with taste tests, Harry and Will found the considerably high levels of umami in Kikkoman soy sauce intensified the sweet flavour of the tomatoes the best and added a rich savouriness to the drink. Kikkoman’s high levels of umami occur during its unique natural brewing process lasting several months. Other soy sauces simply don’t have this depth of umami because they are either just part-brewed or chemically produced in just a matter of days. The difference in quality is quite stark - with Kikkoman you get complex layers of flavour, aroma, and that magic umami, whereas with cheap light and dark soy sauces all you get is liquid salt. That is why Kikkoman is often the secret ingredient in many professional chefs cooking.
