Chinese New Year

Mad about the Soy

Chinese New Year starts on Monday 8th February 2016 and it is an occasion that has really grown in popularity around cities here in the UK, and many universities also take part in celebrations, with both British and Chinese students getting involved. You can throw your own party at home – all you need is a few top quality ingredients such as Kikkoman Soy Sauce and a few fresh vegetables to get your kitchen wokking!

For best stir-fry results, keep it simple – choose your favourite vegetable, meat or fish as the star of the show, add a couple of contrasting textures such as crunchy carrot and silky mushrooms, and finish  with that all important seasoning for an authentic taste – soy sauce. Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce is the one professional chefs’ prefer. They appreciate the smooth, aromatic flavour that comes from months of unhurried brewing. And they know that as Kikkoman contains just four natural ingredients – soybeans, wheat, salt and water - it complements all the other ingredients instead of masking the flavour of your food, as some less superior soy sauces do.

Look out in supermarkets for the distinctive, red-capped Kikkoman dispenser bottle, or the green capped Less Salt version with 43% less salt, and you won’t go wrong.

If you can’t eat wheat then choose Kikoman Gluten-free Tamari Soy Sauce which has all the delicious flavour but is suitable for coeliacs. Find in Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrisons in the free-from aisle.
